Climate Champion awards


From time-to-time, Climate Change Connection awards its Climate Champions award to groups or individuals whose work is an inspiration to others in the struggle to combat climate change.


2010 - Kelvin High School Organizing Committe


The 2010 Climate Champions were named on Mar 22, 2010.

The Kelvin High School Organizing Committee (approx. 20 students plus teachers) organized and hosted the 2010 Arctic Climate Change Youth Forum at FortWhyte Alive on Feb 5, 2010.


2007 - "Idle Free" girls

“The Idle Free Girls”


The first recipients of our Climate Champion Award were the Stonewall Centennial School “Idle Free Girls”.

These girls are a group of Grade Six students at Stonewall Centennial School in Stonewall, Manitoba committed to helping the planet and slowing global warming.

 

The "Idle Free Girls" received their award from the Honourable Jim Rondeau on Sep 19, 2007.
