The Climate Change Connection Youth Video Challenge

Are you passionate about climate change and want to make a difference? Climate Change Connection needs you! Here’s your chance to raise awareness, influence your peers, and win cash prizes.

About

The Climate Change Connection Video Challenge is an opportunity to create a 1.30 minute video reel to be premiered on Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok. The more engaging your video, the higher your chances of winning.

How Do I Win?

This year’s theme:

Leap into the Future: Imagine it’s 2050 and Manitoba Led the Way on Climate Action!

Net-zero by 2050 isn’t just a target — it’s a global deadline. To avoid the worst impacts of climate change, the world must reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by the year 2050. That means slashing pollution and reimagining everything: energy, transportation, food, cities — and how we care for each other — starting now.

This is your invitation to leap into the future!

Imagine it’s the year 2050, and Manitoba has reached net-zero emissions.

What could life in Manitoba look like?

  • Will your home be heated with clean energy?
  • Will food grow closer to home?
  • Will your bus be electric or your bike route frost-free year-round?
  • How has life changed — and how has it stayed true to who we are?

This is your chance to imagine — and show — the future we can create.
Make a short video to tell your story of a net-zero Manitoba.

It could be a hopeful vision, a creative sketch, a personal reflection — or a bold reimagining of your community.

Leap into the world that could be.
Because the future isn’t written yet — but you can help shape it.

Submit your short video for a chance to be featured during Earth Month!

A panel of judges will select up to 10 finalists, and one winner will be chosen by People’s Choice — the video with the most views, likes, and shares online!

🎥 What we’re looking for:
✔️ Personal point of view  — how climate change impacts YOU and fellow Manitobans
✔️ Smart, local solutions (*hint check out – our resource website below.)
✔️ Creativity and originality
✔️ Strong storytelling
✔️ Solid sound and picture quality
